1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how IsharaGo (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App on Android or iOS. IsharaGo teaches Arabic Sign Language through video lessons organised into levels, with lesson quizzes, level exams, and certificates.
We have written this policy to describe what the App actually does. If anything here does not match your experience of the App, please contact us using the details in section 16.
2. Who is responsible for your information?
Basel Abu Al Asal
Email: alasalbasel@gmail.com
Amman, Jordan
3. Information we handle
Account identity
- Your email address and display name, received from Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In when you choose to sign in.
- If we have invited you to test or review the App and you sign in with an email address and password, your email address. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store it.
- A Firebase user identifier (a random ID), which links your progress, purchases, and certificates to your account.
- The name you lock for your certificate. It is set once and cannot be changed afterwards, because it is printed on any certificate you earn.
Learning data
- Which lessons and lesson parts you have completed, and how much of each video you have watched.
- Lesson quiz answers and results.
- Level exam answers, attempts, scores, and pass or fail outcomes.
- Lessons you save to Favorites.
- Certificates issued to you, including the level, score, certificate number, and issue date.
Purchase data
- Store transaction identifiers and receipts for levels you purchase.
- Per-level access records, including when access started and when it expires.
Usage data (Firebase Analytics)
- Which screens you open, and in-app events such as signing in, starting or completing a lesson, submitting or passing a quiz or exam, starting or completing a level purchase, and receiving a certificate. Events carry only IDs of lessons and levels, never your answers or any free text.
- Automatically collected app information: app version, device model, operating system version, interface language, first launch, and session start and length.
- An app-instance identifier generated by Firebase, and an approximate country or region that Google derives from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored in your analytics data.
Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics)
- When the App crashes or hits a serious error: a crash report with the technical trace of the error, device model, operating system version, app version, orientation, and available memory and storage at the time.
- A Crashlytics installation identifier, and small labels we attach to help diagnose problems: your interface language, whether you are in guest mode, and the app version.
Stored only on your device
- Your chosen interface language, and, in guest mode, your favorites, progress, and exam results. These stay on your device until you sign in, when they are moved to your account.
4. How usage and crash data is linked to you
When you are signed in, we attach your Firebase user identifier to analytics and crash data, so that we can look into a problem you report to us. We never attach your name or email address to analytics or crash data. When you sign out or delete your account, the identifier is removed from any further data. Analytics and crash reporting are switched off in development builds of the App.
5. Guest mode
You can browse the full catalogue of levels and lessons without creating an account. In guest mode we do not know who you are and hold no account information about you. Usage and crash data described in section 3 is still collected, identified only by the random app-instance and installation identifiers. Signing in is required to watch lessons, save progress to your account, take quizzes and exams, purchase a level, and receive certificates.
6. How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and sign you in.
- To save your learning progress and make it available on your other devices.
- To grade lesson quizzes and level exams, and to issue certificates.
- To determine whether you currently have access to a purchased level.
- To verify purchases with Apple and Google and to prevent fraudulent access.
- To understand how the App is used, so we can improve lessons and fix confusing parts of the App (usage data).
- To find and fix crashes and errors (crash and diagnostic data).
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
7. Legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract with you, for providing the App and the content you have purchased; our legitimate interests, for securing the service, preventing abuse, fixing crashes, and understanding how the App is used in order to improve it; and your consent, where you give it, such as when you choose to save a certificate to your photo library.
8. Service providers
We use the following providers to operate the App. They process information on our behalf, under their own privacy terms:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions, where accounts, progress, exam results, certificates, and lesson videos are stored and served; Firebase Analytics for usage data; and Firebase Crashlytics for crash and diagnostic data.
- RevenueCat: purchase processing and receipt validation.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: payment processing. We never see or store your payment card details.
- Google Play Developer API: used on our server to verify Android purchases.
9. What we do not do
- We do not include any advertising or attribution SDK, and the App shows no ads.
- We do not access the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android), and advertising-ID collection is turned off in Firebase Analytics.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not share usage or crash data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect your precise location or your contacts, and the App does not use your microphone or camera.
10. Photo library
When you tap “Save as image” on a certificate, the App writes that image to your device's photo library. Your device asks for permission the first time. The App only ever adds an image; it never reads, browses, or uploads anything from your photo library.
11. Screen recording protection
To protect paid lesson videos, the App on iOS checks whether the screen is being recorded or mirrored, and hides the video while it is. This check happens only on your device. Nothing is recorded, and nothing about it is sent to us.
12. Data retention and account deletion
We keep your account and learning data while your account exists. Usage data is kept in Firebase Analytics for no longer than 14 months, and crash reports are kept in Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days; after that they are deleted automatically.
You can delete your account from within the App: open Profile → Delete account (at the bottom of the Profile tab), read the warning, and type DELETE to confirm. Deleting your account permanently removes your app account and all of its associated app data, as listed below. It cannot be undone.
Please note: IsharaGo does not create auto-renewing subscriptions, so there is nothing to cancel. Each level is a one-time purchase granting access for a fixed period, and no further charge is ever made unless you choose to buy a level again.
We do not keep a copy of your data after deletion. Apple, Google, and our purchase processor RevenueCat keep their own records of the purchases you made, under their own privacy policies, and we cannot delete those records for you.
13. Requesting account and data deletion
You can delete your account and its data in two ways, and you do not need to install or open the App to use the second one:
- In the App: Profile → Delete account.
- By email: write to alasalbasel@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify the request and delete the account within 30 days.
Deletion removes your sign-in account, your locked certificate name, learning progress, favorites, lesson quiz results, level exam attempts and results, issued certificates, level access, and your purchase receipts. Purchased level access cannot be restored to a deleted account. Usage and crash data already collected is not linked to your name or email and expires as described in section 12; you can also ask us by email to delete the analytics data associated with your account. Step-by-step instructions are on our Delete your account page.
14. Data security
- All communication between the App and our servers uses HTTPS.
- Lesson videos are never addressed directly. Each playback request is authorised by our server, which returns a signed link that expires after a few minutes.
- Access rules for paid content are enforced on the server, not only in the App.
- Correct answers to quizzes and exams are never sent to the App; grading happens on the server.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, including analytics, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account directly in the App, and you can contact us at any time about any of these rights. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
16. Children, international processing, changes, and contact
IsharaGo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Our service providers operate globally, so your information may be processed on servers outside Jordan, including in the European Union and the United States.
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be highlighted in the App.
